Reveal Me Altogether Lovely

by Daphne Handford

Less than two years ago the Spirit filled my mind with two words in huge letters 'REVEAL ME'. Since then I have endeavored to share much that is in my heart, and revelations He gives me to exalt Him alone and to bless others, and to tell them that if they seek Him with all their heart, they will be amazed and eventually that they will walk with Him and talk with Him, love and adore and worship Him and have the joy of serving Him but not to forget that this knowing Him and the power of His resurrection has to be preceded by embracing the 'fellowship of His s5fferings, being conformed to His death" (Phil. 3:1 0)

None of us realize when we first 'choose' willingly to follow Him the way of the cross, yielding our will to His control totally that we are on an amazing route to glory; and Joy unspeakable and the peace that passes understanding are but two of His loving gifts to us.

O how glorious HE IS! Oh how I love Him! Sometimes I say, Lord Jesus, I love you, love you, love you, I love you to distraction! I wondered what I meant by 'to distraction.' I found the dictionary meaning of the word is 'having all one's attention diverted' Yes! How true! Often I can only think of HIM! (and forget about time, meals, and sleep) A line of a beautiful song comes to me; "A11 things that surround become shadows in the Light of You!

Recently I asked Him a totally unnecessary question. I asked to be as close to Him as it was possible to be - but before He could reply I changed my words to "as close as You can bear to have me".

He replied by prophecy ---

"The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will Joy over thee with singing. (Zep.3: 17)

I can't and don't claim to be a prophet. But I can, and do, claim to be "a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ." (As James said at the opening of his epistle and as Paul said- Rom. 1:1; Phil. 1:1) And being a servant to the ONE WHO IS LOVE; Love that is fathomless, LOVE who gives and gives to the uttermost. LOVE WHO IS THE ALL IN ALL to my soul, who is the Father of my spirit (Hebrews 12:9) the Savior of my soul and the Inspirer and Motivator of my thoughts, words and actions --- I am indeed a very fortunate servant and have discovered that His Inconceivable Love for me brings me to a glorious place of 'walking with Him' and at times standing before Him, in awe and worship totally available to hear His words and to do His will.

A few years ago I heard an address by Paul Currie (one-time Vicar of St. Alkmunds Church, Derby). I was astounded that he said "God wants first and foremost our love for Him and our worship of Him, and our works for Him, our service to others, comes second. He pointed out that Jesus said, the first and great commandment is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and the second is to love our neighbor as ourselves. On these hang all the Law and the Prophets.

Though I knew that passage of scripture well, I had not realized before that God (whom Jesus always called Father) longed for me (and all of us) to spend much time alone with Him in worship, adoration and praise, and by this obedience I discovered that it was easy to obey the second commandment, to love my neighbor (even some I did not like) as myself.

Since that first revelation; the call to worship the Father in spirit and in truth, (John 4:23- 24) how He has moved me by every means He knows of: by suffering, by blessings, by listening to other men and women of God, by going where He has told me to, by the prayers, prophesy and love of the saints, by reading more about Jesus in John's gospel, by thinking about His path of suffering for me by being forced to be house-bound and alone much of the time due to disabilities, and by His own great Spirit within me. He has brought me to the place of saying, "Lord, Your will be done in me and through me, this second and every second to come, today, tonight and every second of time that remains for me to be in time: and at the end of time, to glorify You in Eternity! And I am compelled to add "Whatever the cost may be, and I pray His grace and strength to take me through.

For Jesus said "Whoever does not take up his cross and follow ME, is not worthy of Me and except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone, but if it die, it brings forth much fruit." It seems to me, we are commanded to deliberately "take up our cross not merely to endure the various hardships that come upon us which we can't avoid and to become the corn that falls into the ground and dies, also is our free will in total union with His will. But these are not legalist burdens! Nor is it being morbid! For me, it is being so much in love with the Lover of my soul that I can do no other than adore Him, worship Him, listen to Him, and seek his Face to see what He shows me, tells me and reveal His glorious love, purity, beauty, gentleness, and forgiveness. Billions of words cannot convey what should be said of Him who "was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." (I John 1:14)

I sometimes weep about folk; born-again believers, who not only don't know what is missing but don't seem to want to know if one tries to tell them about the glorious Presence within them and around them and also in His glorified Body in the Highest Heaven at the Father's right hand. He is there making intercession for us (Heb.7:25). He is there preparing a place for us (John 14:2) and also preparing for His return in great Glory and Power - but meanwhile He looks down with love and longing that all His Own shall respond to His loving desire to share HIS VERY BEING with them now and forever in the unspeakable glories of Eternity!

"Know ye not that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (ICor.3: 16) In view of those inspired words by the Apostle Paul, let's worship and glorify Him who loves us so much that He humbles Himself enough to live within us! He who created the universe: He who came as a man alongside us, He who died the death of a criminal, though He is pure and holy, He who is preparing a place for us too wonderful for words! Let's be under His control as His bond slaves of Love, every second of every day and every night. Of ourselves we cannot do this. But when we think of Him and visualize as best we can, His suffering to the uttermost, in spirit, mind and body, for US, we shall love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and find that He who is within us, He who is Love rejoices in our love and flows out to others - thus the first great commandment merges with the second. Then, it is not difficult to love our neighbor as ourselves. He is in control, doing through us the things He sees the Father doing. This brings us and Him great joy, and also removes our desires for unimportant time-wasting activities.

And wonder of wonders! God actually gets pleasure from us! Paul said, "It pleased God to reveal His Son in me." We must let Him do it in us if we wish to please Him. He endured the cross -- "for the joy set before Him". His Joy in us! What a precious privilege to be His Joy!

"As the Bridegroom rejoices over the Bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee! (Is.62:5)

"He will joy over thee with singing. (Zep.3: 17)

There are other references to the Joy Jesus has, and His Father has over those who become His Own as seen in His parables of the lost sheep. The lost silver coin, the return of the prodigal son -- "It was right that we should make merry, and be glad for this your brother was dead and is alive again------." Jesus said 'If anyone loves Me, he will keep My words, and My Father will love him and We will come unto him and make our abode with him. (John 14:23) He comes into us because He has joy in us and our love for Him.

In recent years I have been overwhelmingly blessed by quite a few 'spiritual visions.' The most glorious of all was an occasion when I was privileged to 'see' totally unexpectedly, (I was standing by my kitchen sink at the time) a brilliant, glorious Being clothed with sparkling colorful rays of light and golden light around His head was there. Then, I was looking into two large, most beautiful eyes it is not easy to convey in words it seemed I was privileged to 'see' the Inconceivable self-giving Love, Beauty, and Gentleness of Jesus and I was aware of His intention that I should receive and retain in mind and in my spirit all He wished to convey. Amazed by such love, I 'looked', as it were, to know how great His love is; as I 'looked', I saw LOVE rising up from Him, up and up and up like a river of living waters and I then knew, His Love has no limits and no ending By this 'time' His form had changed to a glorious Person robed in white, standing only two 'yards' (how can one describe space in a spiritual realm!) from me. He was still looking at me and had His arms slightly raised with His hands open as if He was offering me Himself! Then I 'saw' little 'waves' coming from Him, and entering my heart. 0 Hallelujah! I became suffused in His Love no words can convey the preciousness of those Heavenly moments of Union with Him!

Though this happened in August 1997, every detail of this blessed revelation is as clear to me as the day He 'came'. It was several months before I could speak of this wonderful experience without bursting into strong crying. I only tell of this to those who love Him; many would not believe a word of it. To me, a Christian, to lie, or exaggerate, are equally great sins I keep strictly to the truth. Jesus IS the Truth. I have been asked questions. My replies are, "Yes, it was Jesus." No, I don't imagine He left Heaven to visit me. I believe He is in His glorified body in the Highest Heaven at His Fathers right hand - until His return. I also believe that His Spirit is in us who are His and at the same time we are in Him: "he who is joined to the Lord is ONE SPIRIT." Why should anyone be surprised that our God is OMNIPRESENT, OMNISCIENT, AND OMNIPOTENT?

"In Him we live, and move and have our being." (Acts 17:28)

"We know that we dwell in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit" (I John 4:13)

"God is Love; he who dwells in Love dwells in God, and God in him."(I John 4:16)

"We are in Him who is True even in His son Jesus Christ." (I John 5:20)

One could go on and on. I have quoted the above texts to help those who can only think of God as a remote Being never to be "seen or known" by humans. Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God."

During the night of Dec. 9, 1998 (when Linda Bunting and DeeDee Winter were staying here), quite unexpectedly I had a vision of the whole world before me, and the shapes of all the countries and continents, the mountains and seas (not like a globe; nor flat like a map). Then a small group of people, who appeared to be so close to each other they seemed like one entity, were raised up above their country and then I saw that this was happening in every country in the world, from north to south and east to west.

The picture vanished and the words 'Arctic' and 'north' came to mind and a sense of urgency for people in those particular areas.

The Spirit made it plain to me that the folk He is knitting together as one, are those who love Him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength and thus have the privilege of' 'Standing in His Presence' and being totally available to be His servants and to take His words, with His Love and authority to the 'sleeping church' throughout the world in these last days of the age, until His Bride has made herself ready for the marriage of the Lamb.

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife has made herself ready."

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself, the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and blameless." Eph.5: 25-27

"Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." And it was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. And he said to me, "Write, 'Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb."' And he said to me, "These are the true words of God." Revelation 19: 7-9

On January 7, before getting out of bed I had another 'vision' of the world, followed by 'seeing' a large sickle and some one commencing to reap the final world harvest. It seemed to me the Spirit was saying that we have passed through the open doors that no man can shut and WE ARE NOW in the vast fields of opportunity that exist in the whole world, and each of us will fulfill the particular calling He gives us. Some will gladly embrace the supreme truth and joy of knowing that there is a wonderful God, whose wonderful Son not only died for them but lives again and longs for them to know He lives in them, and is pouring out His love to them and through them.

After the vision, I got out of bed and asked the Lord to confirm if this vision was from Him and if I should write it down. I got hold of my Bible and opened it - not realizing it was upside down. I turned it right way up, still at the page I had opened. The first words were WRITE THE VISION AND MAKE IT PLAIN UPON THE TABLES that he who runs may read; it." Habakkuk 2: 2

You could have knocked me down with a feather! The reason I nearly always ask God for a "second witness' is because I remember Norman Grubb advising folk to not accept every idea, vision, or even what seems right as the enemy can so easily give false visions, false guidance.

From: "In the Presence of God" by Francis Frangipane

The marriage of Adam and Eve where Eve literally emerged and was born out of Adam's substance, is a prophetic type of the church born out of the actual substance of Christ. Paul tells us that our bodies are the physical members of Christ. (I Cor. 6:15 -12:12)

"Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ?

We are not simply metaphorically the body of Christ; but spiritually we are "bone of (His) bones, and flesh of (His) flesh. (Gen.2:23)

"And the man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh;"

This truth is not heresy. It is the unalterable Word of God. Christ Himself is IN us. To believe otherwise is heresy. The test of Christian orthodoxy, according to Scripture, is II Cor. 13:5.

"Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith, examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you" We must recognize this about ourselves: Jesus Christ is in us. But it is heresy to say we are Christ. Yet it is also error to deny He is within us. Paul expressed this mystery when he wrote Gal.2:20

"I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave His life for me."

This vision of Christ's ever-expanding fullness was the source of Paul's most sublime teachings to the early church. He speaks of having died with Christ and of Christ now living within him. To the Romans he explains the church has been predestined to become conformed to Christ, and towards this magnificent purpose all things are currently working. (Rom.8:28-29; Eph. 1: 11)

Our destiny is not just to carry Christ inside, but to reveal the fullness of His glory in this would. Even now, abiding within our spirits, deeper and more profound than our church doctrine is the actual Spirit of Christ. Christ in His completeness has extended Himself into our lives!
