The Sinners
by Michael Daniel

It seems that we are in a time when things are being turned upside down and inside out. So many in religion and espescially Christianity are pointing accusing fingers at "the sinners", blaming unrelenting disasters on everyone from homosexuals to prostitutes to who knows who?

Throughout history, and especially in this day and age, when some great catastrophe occurs the first ones to get blamed are "the sinners". If I'm not mistaken it was "the sinners" that Christ came for NOT the religious, self-righteous ones. As a matter of fact, on many occasions Jesus sat down in covenant with "the sinners" and told the religious, self righteous hypocrites to go to hell.

Causing someone to be sin conscious is a great tool of control and manipulation. If someone can make you feel guilty for what you've already been forgiven for and make you scared to death of God, you'll jump through hoops to the tune of religiosity and legalism and remain under the thumb of the man and the system. If you're sin conscious, you're not Christ conscious.

Let us go back 2007 years ago, or around about thereof. John the Baptizer cried aloud:

"Behold, the Lamb of God who TAKES AWAY the sin of the world!"

If Christ took sin away, what did He do with it? Did He open up a savings account for safekeeping until it accumulated the maximum interest so God could once again destroy the world on account of it? Has Jesus left something undone?

So what happened to sin? Let's journey even further back to the days of Jeremiah.

"Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them," declares the Lord. "But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,"
declares the Lord. "I will put my law within them, and on their hearts I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people, and they shall NOT teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, "Know the Lord," for they shall ALL know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the Lord, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember NO MORE!"

Why has God Almighty chosen not to remember sin? Because sin was dealt with on a cross on Golgotha when the Son of God cried out in a loud voice, "IT IS FINISHED!" Christ Jesus Himself is the New Covenant and He has left nothing else to be accomplished. "It is finished!"

It is religious unbelief that plagues mankind. Unbelief that God IS the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent, All Knowing, All Seeing, Sovereign Creator and Doer of ALL THINGS Who is in control of EVERYTHING! Just how many Christians truly believe that God IS God? To sum it all up here are the words of six year old Kelci. When asked, "Who is God," she confidently and boldly replied, "He's the Boss of EVERYTHING!" Well that, as they say, is that.

"The sinners", in all humility, freely admit that they are totally unworthy of Christ and His Grace. They know that in and of themselves, they are nothing. "The sinners" know that eternal salvation and being ONE with God in Christ and truly knowing God is a gift. A gift freely given, and a gift can never be earned and a true gift can never be taken away.

Thank God for "the sinners". Without them, religious people would have no one to point a finger at but themselves.
